As an Educational Psychologist, Charlene believes in order for the therapeutic process to be most effective, a holistic approach within a child's life must be adopted. Therefore, her practice focuses on the wellbeing of children but is not limited to their individual role in their learning and development. Her aim is to work with children, parents and teachers in order to best understand the key areas of concern; allowing for the most appropriate and beneficial therapeutic or assessment service to be provided.

Adolescence is a developmental period that brings about many changes both in the adolescents life and within the family. The changes adolescents’ experience can at times feel overwhelming. Charlene offers a safe space for adolescents’ where they can process the emotional struggles they may be experiencing. Individual psychotherapy gives the adolescent the space to be heard and understood in terms of what is going on in their world.

Difficulties adolescents’ may experience include:
- Relationship difficulties / Family relationship difficulties
- Parental Divorce
- Trauma / Anxiety/ Abuse / Grief / Depression
- Aggressive behaviour (Anger) / Bullying
- Eating disorders
- Stress management
- Other mental health problems
